9/11 - 5p-9p @ Sole Classics (846 N High St., Columbus, OH)
I took this photo while on a walk in Uvita, Costa Rica. The natural shapes and formations of nature have always amazed me. The layers in this photo really bring the scene to life. It's interesting to see how the clouds in the background compliment the leaves in the foreground. I love the contrast between each element.
Times To Remember
I took this photo while on a weekend getaway at Hocking Hills (Old Man's Cave) for my girlfriend's birthday. I love seeing families having fun together. I feel like the time and love shared between each other is one of life's most valuable offerings. This is a moment that each sibling can look back on, and reminisce. This photo is symbolic of good times.
This photo was taken during my first trip to the west coast. I was in Anaheim at the time, enjoying some food truck snacks, and I was inspired by the sky, but also the palm trees. The sky created a perfect backdrop for the palm trees, a simple moment I had to capture. I'm used to winter in Ohio, so this was pretty different for me to say the least.
Short North Summer
I've lived in Ohio all of my life, and I had never seen the sky so colorful before. I stared at the sky for a few minutes, so memorized that I didn't even think to take a picture of it. I had gone inside the Kingsrowe Gallery and after I sat down for a minute, I said to myself "wait, I need to document this moment!". Lol. So, I rushed back outside to take the photo before the sunset was gone. I'm glad I was able to come to my senses.
5:39pm - Uvita, Costa Rica
I took this photo at 5:39pm in Uvita, Costa Rica following what seemed like the longest day ever. I woke up around 4:00am in Ohio, flew from Columbus to Houston, then from Houston to San Jose, then sat through a three hour drive from San Jose to Uvita. Experienced several "are we there yet" moments. When I finally arrived in Uvita, this view made everything worth it.
This photo was taken at the Wesleyan Metro Park in Dayton, OH. I grew up a few blocks away from the park, I've been to the park a hundred times, and I never knew this particular area existed. On Father's Day my dad & I took a walk to the park, and I decided to explore a little more than usual, we discovered what you see above. This photo represents a time when nothing else mattered, but this moment we shared together in history. The time my dad has spent with me over the years is what I value the most. It was nice just being out, wandering in time & space with my dad.
Coldest Winter - Detroit, MI
Man, my first Kanye show, my first time in Detroit, and my first time paying over $100 to see a show, ...it was worth every penny! The energy in the arena (Auburn Hills) was amazing. The show was sold out. The show production was immaculate. In the photo Kanye was performing "Coldest Winter" (Yeezus Tour). Before he performed, he spoke about how the song was written about his mother after she passed. "Goodbye, my friend. Will I ever love again"
Looking Down At The Sky
I was out walking at Goodale Park and I looked down into the pond, not expecting to see much. I saw something beautiful. I was drawn to the colors & shapes of the leaves, the lonely flower, and the reflection of the sky seen in the water. There's a lot to look at, I see something new every time I view the photo.
Fly High, Fly Together
I snapped this photo while on a private beach in Costa Rica. Probably the largest "Flying V" I've ever seen before. It was even more amazing to see in person. And the weather was lovely. The clouds were positioned perfectly. Everything was aligned. This is one of the prettiest photos I've ever taken, in my opinion. Grace + unity.
A-8SC - 01.31.2015
After a two year collaboration hiatus, Sole Classics was back! We went all out for the release of the A-8SC Sk8 Hi. We shot a ton of photos, a crazy video, Vans sent us window vinyls & did a custom buildout in our Vans Vault. We knew we had something special, but you never know if everyone else will share the same appreciation. Thankfully, the shoes went viral! They were posted on nearly every major shoe website, people from all over the world were hitting us up for a pair, and most importantly, Columbus showed up in numbers. We had a line for Vans (that's very rare), and not just a line, but a line that wrapped around the block. Nearly 200 people were outside Sole Classics that morning, some had waited all night. Mind you, these released in the heart of winter, it was less than 20 degrees outside. Now, that's dedication. Thank you!
